Zomato launches new Order Scheduling feature in select cities across India

Food delivery app Zomato has introduced a new feature that lets customers schedule orders two days in advance.

Called ‘Order Scheduling,’ this new service is currently available at around 13,000 outlets in Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Lucknow, and Jaipur. However, it is only available for orders above ₹1,000.

The news was announced by CEO and the founder of Zomato, Deepinder Goyal, on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle.

Explaining the reason behind choosing these specific cities, Goyal explained, “These restaurants historically, have high quantities of dishes in stock and have shown kitchen-preparation-time consistency.”

He added that more cities and restaurants will be added to the Zomato’s eventually, regardless of the order value.

Several X users have applauded the news about the new feature introduced by Zomato, wishing them best of luck for the future. One user commented: “Always wanted this feature. Great job.” Another user wrote, “Always thought this was one pretty critical feature missing in an otherwise great app.” Another said: “This is why I have been more loyal to Zomato than to any other app! Zomato is in itself, GOLD.”

The announcement about the ‘order scheduling’ feature comes mere hours after Zomato shut down its intercity food delivery service ‘Zomato Legends.’
